Today, let’s take a look back at a classic TV series, beloved by countless audiences, “Power Rangers,” an American entertainment and merchandising franchise revolving around live-action superhero TV series.
When “transformed,” the Rangers become powerful superheroes wearing color-coded bodysuits, spandex suits, and helmets with opaque visors; all the same except for individual Ranger colors, helmet designs, and smaller styles. Shapeshifting Rangers typically have enhanced strength, durability, agility, and combat abilities. Some possess superhuman or psychic abilities such as overdrive, elemental manipulation, extrasensory perception or stealth. In addition, each ranger has a unique weapon as well as common weapons for ground combat. When enemies grow to unbelievable sizes, wanderers use individual Zords to combine into larger Megazords.
The Rangers operate in teams of three to five, with more Rangers joining the ranks later. Each Ranger team follows a set of general conventions, which are outlined at the start. Mighty Morphine and has been hinted at by mentors in many other series: The Power Rangers must not use the power of their troopers for personal gain or escalate battles, nor reveal the Power Rangers’ identities to the public. The penalty for breaking these rules is the loss of their powers.
Like in Super Rangers, the color palette of each Power Rangers team will change each series. Only red and blue appear in every Ranger, while one Yellow Ranger appears every season, except for the Power Rangers Dinosaur Charge. Other colors and names also appear throughout the collection. The Rangers’ color identity also influences their wardrobes throughout the collection: civilian clothing often matches the Rangers’ colors.
As of 2019, Power Rangers includes 27 TV seasons, including 20 different themed series and three theatrical films released in 1995, 1997 and 2017. This series has achieved great success, so it is deeply loved and pursued by countless children.
